Callidora was born from our founder Josie’s vision of an everyday beauty brand that feels like care. Accessible, skin-forward, and made to enhance what’s already there.
But this dream began with Josie’s earliest lessons from her mother; that care is not about perfection, but about nourishment, intention, and consistency. Those lessons shaped the way she came to see beauty.
After 14 years in the beauty industry, working hands-on to create luxury-grade makeup, she saw firsthand the failures of the industry; how often shades overlooked women of color, how the industry manufactures insecurities to push products, and how prices pushed everyday women out.
That's why she decided to honor her mother’s lessons and create Callidora as a love letter to her, and to every woman who deserves makeup that honors who she is.
